Similar to salsa verde, this sauce is bright and tangy. The flavour hits quick and so does the heat from Habanero and Ghost peppers. The lime cuts the palette quite well, almost too well, but the apple keeps the acridity in check by rounding out the overall flavour. The Habanero peppers in this sauce were grown by students at John Bowne High School in Queens, NY.
This sauce pairs well with tacos, and pork chops. You could even kick your salsa or guacamole into overdrive by mixing some in.
Vegan friendly, and gluten free.
